NEST Desktop is an established web interface for neural network modeling that requires little coding. We are currently preparing a research proposal to take NEST Desktop to the next level: creating an intelligent, AI-assisted modeling environment that integrates: Interactive modeling & compilation (NEST & NESTML) Advanced data analysis (Elephant toolbox) Native AI / LLM assistance for automated code generation, simulation setup, and intelligent data inspection AI assistance represents a major opportunity to lower entry barriers, accelerate prototyping, and automate repetitive scripting.
